I am kind of tired of my stock shift knob on my 6 spd. I am wanting to do something different in my truck. I don't really want a B&M T handle and don't want just a different ball. I want something comfortable in my hand because I am the kind of person that always has my hand on my shifter, even driving down the interstate for hours. I think a Pistol grip hurst type shifter would be different. Anyone have any other suggestions? I am sure this is a repeat but I can't find any on here.

I had a big-rig type eaton shifter on my chevy, that thing was cool. it was from the 70's and all steel (did get a bit cold) but it had a blue air selector knob that slid back and fourth and a 13 speed pattern on the top, I need to find a picture of it. It was cool cause it was flat and fit in your palm well, and double cool cause you could play with the range selector and just click it back and fourth all day. gilrfriend hated it but it was fun

I thought I had a better pic of just the shifter. I'l have to look around. Thats a Gunslinger pistolgrip.

Not custom but thought it was close enough.

Ive had the t-handle and pistol grip on my 6spd. I always have the center console down with my arm resting on it and that made the pistol grip ackward to grap with a full grip. They both sucked in the winter. Too cold. Lol. I want one of the leather covered grips that comes on the vette 6speeds. Looks comfy and the shift pattern is still there for the rare occasion someone else drives my truck. What I want most is a hurst shift lever like the srt10 has. I drove on once and the way it brings the grip over towards you was awesome.

Yea my pistol grip was back too far in 2,4,6. The adaptor that i have in it now pushes the handle front and makes it much more comfortable with the console down.

Coors original beer tap in my 12v. I got it to put on the 4 speed in my 73 F250

Thanks guys!! I really like the look of the pistol grip. I just can't afford 250 bucks for a shifter. How hard would it be to fabricate one myself? I am sure it won't be all that hard but the problem I think I would have issues with would be with the wood handle.

Here's a billet one I made a while back for a side project. It is still in the block before wire EDM. Making a wood one wouldn't be that hard if you work with wood a lot. Lol.

A buddy of mine had a t handle with the button in it and he used it for the exhaust brake. It was nice not having to switch it off at stop lights. I have a round peterbilt knob on mine but I'm considering one of the weighted ones.

i got a mack bulldog form my dad when he passed away. and i cut a block of steel and welded it between the dogs legs and drilled and tapped it to fit my shifter. works great but its cold as hell in the winter time.

I took the pattern from a broken set of plastic ones
carved them down, then used a sand roller to form the grip better

the handle part I made from a 1" think alum disc.
have to look for the shifter in the pic

had a hurst pistol grip in mine for a while, was cold in the winter and fit my hand well, but like others have said the center console got in the way. a friend of mine made a new knob, lever and wall its bent over more towards the drivers seat, looks good and drives well too, will try to get a pic of it.

used the piston out of my old 01 kx250 race bike. welded a nut to the wrist pin. i actually have it sitting here getting a coat of gloss black. does get cold though
