i want to make a high hp street dominator on only #2. but i also want to be able to drive it work and back. is it doable or am i dreamin? and i was also wondering what the differences between the versions of the d max are (lly/lb7). is one better then the other for building a monster.

thanks again,

kurt
:thankyou2: :st:

LB7 is better for building a monster. Our truck is used for work everyday

GT40R Turbo would be good
Dual Fuelers
A Built Tranny
Good Tuning
Lift Pumps, Steering Upgrades
And that is basic

Why? because you have one? Can you provide some empirical evidence as to why? Not trying to be a tool, but if you are gonna make that statement, you should at least be able to back it up with something other than "this is what we have".....

Doable? You bet it is! Drive mine daily. :woohoo:

It all depends on what you expect to get from the truck and what your willing to spend to get it. The LB7 will make more power in stock form than an LLY will. The LBZ is right with the LB7 for power in stock form. If your willing to change everything then it really does not much matter which you start with. All the motors are limited in power due to the stock rod design. Any power above 500- 550 RwHp and your pushing the stock rods and can expect a failure.

So if your plan is to start with a clean piece of paper and do what ever it takes you can have a nice 800 RwHp daily driver when done properly.

The LLY / LB7 really makes little difference. As mentioned above the engineer that came up with the Dmax stock connecting rods suxx. This is probably the main reason why the Dmax is not rated at being a medium duty.
