hey guys i should have my fummins 12valve running by sunday so in couple weeks i will be biting the bullet on a new turbo and some sdx 140s. i have been eyeing the dtech stuff mainly the 64/65/12 that away i have a little room to go a little bigger with fuel on down the road because i think the 140s would be on teh top end of teh 62/65/12. so what do you guys think about these turbos? anyone running them? any positive or negative feed back? also especially is anyone running the 64/65 on a 12v i wold like to know the driving and spooling characteristics thanks again guys

The 65 exhaust wheel is really gonna hurt your top end. Spools quick but chokes on the top end.

It's just gonna be a DD or some towing? Just plan to run that single or are you thinking of twins some day? Auto or manual? What differentials?

I've been searching about these turbos also. I think the 12 housing will be hotter but these turbos are supposed to have good flowing gates, so I think they'd be a good jump up from hy or hx35. I'm just scared i'll outgrow it too fast.

i have one, with sdx 5x.014's

i have adjusted the wastegate to let me get 45 psi

it gets hot.... quick

with the stock injectors it got warm.... it's not bad really... if i wouldn't have done the injectors... but the 12cm gets hot

i probably shoulda got an ED 62/68/14
but i had already order'd my D-tech when i saw them start popping up :bang

meh, maybe a water/meth setup and i'll be happy.... or drop 2 grand and get a super B special and be done with it.

i'm lookin @ over a grand to get a 14cm housing, a 68mm exhaust wheel, and the machining and balancing to get a 62/68/14, that is basically a home brew version.... no race cover, ****ty wheels (probably just standard non ETT from what i'm seeing and guessing)

spend the money, i cheaped out and now i'm  because of it.

BUT, i have an HX55 and a few HT60's and maybe even a 551 VGT turbo to pick through and choose for a primary... just gotta find some piping and plan out my exhaust....

may end up with a decent set of junkyard twins to sooth my EGT worries...

I have the 62/65/12 and it gets a lot warmer than my old DD Jammer, which spooled and ran very well BTW (I wish it hadn't died!). I wish I would've gotten a 62/68/14 instead, but I'm going to see if it would be very hard or expensive to swap a 14cm exh onto this turbo.
