Hey, Im looking to re gear my pullin truck to run in direct drive, 5th low, and i need 4:56 gears but all i could find was 4:63 for the 80. My question is would this work for pullin with out rippin anthing out?? thanks

Just go with 4.88's. The cummins like the RPM to compensate for smaller displacement.

well my truck is still a vp, so rpm limited lol i run it now in 5th most of the time with 4:10 s it spins out about everytime but i just need my final ratio up a little to run better rpm's

gotcha! i would go with a 4.88 though

ok ill look into it, i need a gear chart to check the final ratio, i need like a 12.4 to a 12.7 final to run with these boys around here lol

well i have 245/75/16 on it right now i think thats a 30 inch tire or close to it

I run different size tires preferably 3/4" smaller up front, or adjust tire psi (if you can to get that size difference.

Good rule of thumb is 1" of tire diameter = .1 in change of gear ratio.
