i recently got all the stuff to do the free floating hubs on my truck and i saw the thread somewhere where a guy took a ford dana 60 and welded all his coil over mounts and what-not to it and stuck it under his dodge, so he had 35 spline shafts, no cad, and free float. also i know that ford uses a high pinion v. dodges low pinion, i have access to a ford axle and im considering doing this, just wondering advantages v. disadvantages, high v. low pinon and any ideas or comments you guys have for me

also i have a dodge dana LS i want to change to 35 spline shafts and put in the ford axle, will the dodge and ford carriers interchange? thanks for any answers and im not too sure where to post this up

The ford hp 60 is a better axle. The high pinion is stronger in a front axle application. I think the Ls carrier will interchange as long as the carrier falls in the gear selection range.

i pulled it from a truck with 3.54s and thats whats in my truck, the only thing i didnt think of is i need a ford axle with 3.54s as i cant put my dodge gears in there

That was me that did that swap, let me know if you have any questions about it.

cool thanks, this project is still a little bit away, i have to build my dad a axle for his truck using an extra housing we have, he has a bent non cad axle on his 02 im going to use for all the mounts and stuff, i will be selling a dana 60 off my truck if anyone is interseted
