ok i put new dana 60 in front of my truck and i bought one with a 4 10 gear and i have 3 54 so i switched gears and now i cant get four wheel drive to work does anyone know if there is diffrence in the two carriers.it like grabs and then pops out gear thanks

Sounds like the collar in the CAD isnt getting slid over the shafte completly, the vaccum diaphram is probly worn out or you have a vacuum leak.

yea it is i havent got around to takin it apart because there is a foot snow on ground here

you can just pop off the cover for the vacuum actuator and just switch the clips around so it stays in the locked position. Much more reliable and not harmful because the 3rd gens do not have disconnects.

What he said ^^^. There are a couple cheap quick ways to lock the collar in 4wd position permanently. Or if you feel like spending the money, put a Posi-Lock on it and retain the funtion of the collar without the worry of vaccum issues.

you might have to explain that a little better. i've had that thing off, but didn't looked at it too closely. i'm trying to get it to stop leaking oil, and i don't need the actuator anymore since i have lockouts on the rig.

yea i going to try to take it apart see if i can see the problem or i just going to posi lock it but does anyone know if there is a spacer that goes on the carrier when u run4 10 gears

No, the carrier break is at 4.56 on the 60.
