Dana 70 rebuild kik??

anyone know of a Dana 70 rebuild kit? bearings, seals, clutches, crush sleeve etc.
the rear has a lot of play in it and i an getting clutch chatter in hard left turns from the L-S

when i had the diff cover off to change oil 6 months ago everything looked good on the R&P for ware pattern

i don't plan on sled pulling so i don't really need a D-80 so i was thinking on just a rebuild on the D-70

Don't think the 70 has crush sleeves.
I was gonna say just get a D80

if i can fix the 70 then i may do that

i have not re built a Dana yet...just going by memory on the Chevy`s that i have done years ago

Dana's kind of stink to rebuild. Shims are between the bearing and the carrier.
If you have a good bearing puller they aren't that bad

ahh...ok...not on the out side of the carrier like the Chevy's

and it is a bear to get the carrier out without the spreading tool. been there done that.

All of my carriers came right out. Even my truck with 32,000 miles.

pulled my D70 apart @192K and when I losened everything the carrier fell right out. Like it was said before, its not that bad of a job if you have a good bearing puller.
