Dana 80 Girdle????

Anyone have any pics of ones you have made? Im getting ready to build one. I have a good Idea how Im going to do it, but was wanting more Ideas.

I was thinking like a 5/8 plate that will mount to the cover bolts and also tie into the carrier caps. Probably have to make some spacers to go on top of the caps.

Any Ideas????

THe case will flex under big loads.

the rearend flexes when you put a big load on it and causes stuff to go boom.....

Also when you put studs in and get the bolt problem solved... the cap can break! Seen it done... Im making one that ties in to the cover bolts and goes over top of the caps, then put a preload bolt through the girdle (centered over the cap's) and it will put pressure in the middle of the caps so they can't be pushed back and break... One note, you will have to drill and tap 4 holes and counter sink them in the girdle, to bolt the girdle down with the cover off so you can preload the bolts that you'v put in the girdle.
