dana 80 swap

just did the swap having d shaft shortened tomorrow what size u joint does a 2001 dana 70 have? what size joint does a 2001 80 have?
on a side question can i convert a 1997 dana 70 to discs with my 2001 70 stuff?!

same size u joints. I did not change mine when i did the swap. only shortend the drive shaft.

i didn't have to change anything......

went from 96 dana70 open dif with drums to 02 dana 80 LSD with disks

did your master cylinder work from the 96 on the newer 80 since you moved from drums to disks?

uhh..your u-bolts worked? and youll have to at least take the proportioning valve out if its on a 1996 to get more pressure to the rear, or do it the right way and get a larger bore master cylinder. It will work how you have it, but would work alot better doing something like I stated

i did the complete swap didnt do anything but shortened the d-shaft. u bolts worked it was really tight but they did. drives so much quieter now tht the noisy dana 70 is gone.
