Dash cracked now I need a replacement

Found my dash had cracked sometime yesterday. Its a bout a 9 inch long crack coming up from the vent. I'd like to replace it. I saw the molded plastic repalcment covers on Genos for $140. How do those look, I know they fit over the old dash? I'm gonna stay away from the dashmats i think, I don't think I'll like the look of them. Thanks

real common problem with these trucks im pretty sure theres a thread about this if you do some searching

My buddy has a plastic cover from genos and while it looks ok, you can definitely tell it's a cover. It's also not the best of fit either and he had to do a lot of work to get it to fit right.

Maybe I'll look into replacing the dash then with a factory replacement. Thanks BigBlue.

Just found a crack in my dash on my way home from work... I dont like the idea of slapping a cover on it.. Did you ever buy a new dash?? How much did it set you back? Thanks

im just going to go to my chrysler dealer and get a new replacement.

A dash replacement is a joke from what I understand so I bought a cover lay for my dodge and I didn't have to do any mods to it, but the color I ordered isn't exactly the same so I had to repaint it :doh:. Not any better now but I cant see ground through it any more and thats better than a old man cover. Also an issue I had with it was the silicone not sticking in some spots very well. Other than that if it was the right color you dang near couldn't tell that is was a cover. It was also fairly reasonable.
