Decking cylinder, head Questions?

Good afternoon all, I am going to be decking my cylinder head and i was suprised that cummins does not have a oversize gasket for my application. I figured lets say i cut 5 to 10 thous. would i not want the same over size to keep compression ratio. Or is the cc,s of the valve recess area so small that it does not affect commpresion ratio that much. also does anyone know what the valve to piston clearance is in thousands of an inch. on a 2001 24 valve.

If you want a thicker head gasket you have to use a 12 valve gasket with a little modifacation. Thanks Steve B.

For sure but i am wondering if i even need too. I am thinking i will use a stock gasket.

Have a valve job done, then you can use a stock gasket.
