What weight oil are you guys using with a Detroit still 75w140 or can you just use 80w90. This is for ford rearend in my F250 THANKS

I got this info directly from their FAQ section on their web site. Unfortunately they don't give a weight recommendation

What kind of oil should I use? Can I use synthetic? Do I need friction additive/modifier?
A quality petroleum/mineral based oil works best in the Detroit Locker units. We do not recommend synthetic oil. Friction additive/modifier is not required.

I ran 80w90 for two years before switching to 75w140 syn.

That's what i was going to use with my Trutrac but they don't recommend using synthetic fluid

The synthetic lubricates better disipates heat better, I dont know why they wouldnt recommend using it. The same fluid also keeps your wheel bearings and axle shafts lubed.it also doesnt smell near as bad. I havent had any issues so far.
