I think he is laughing because there should be a gear split for this. As in 4:10 and down and 0:00 and up its not just as easy as change the ring and pinion.
 
Its not hard to unbolt a ring gear from your factory diff and bolt it up to the locker? Regaurdless ill check the gear ratio.
 
They're not all the same.

They change the flange location on the carrier at a certain ratio due to ring gear thickness and pinion diameter.

Usually the split is 4.56 & up, 4.10 & down.

Axle spline count would be good too, there's more than one 70 spline count.
