Went to the track yesterday didnt go so well, transmission does not want to come out of 1st gear. couple codes present: trans control module, crankshaft postion censor, the thing is under a load it wont come out of 1st just hangs real bad now the truck did something very similar to this last year and we ended up replacing the Crank Shaft position censor and it seemed to work but now its doing it again. If we replace the thing again it will be #3 why?? where else should we look? i do think its electronic what other things should i be checking? i do have a full comp suncoast trans not but a year and a half old. just normal driving conditions "light foot on the throttle" it will shift but does seem to hang a bit.

Thanks Cole

I think I would troubleshoot the crank sensor problem before worrying about the tranny to much( especially if it has caused the issue before). The TCM uses alot of inputs from the engine to control the tranny shifting. Is your TCM code a failure code or what? Post up some code numbers, I'll try to help if I can.

1693-Code in PCM or ECM- This is a blanket code, don't mean much.
1698-No CCD messages received from PCM- This could be from RAD or Smarty, maybe a code from how TQ man is dis-abled.
1690-VP don't agree with Crank sensor- This is probably gonna be the culprit, put a sensor on it.
0562- Charging system voltage low- Could cause problems if it's low enough.
0602- Control Module programming error- Pretty sure it's caused by Smarty.

I hope this helps, I can get alot more info at the shop tommorrow.

thanks alot man for the help i guess ill go with the crank sensor any reason why it would be going out like it is im puzzled on why im on #3 now

i did forget something last year my last time out the truck wanted to do the same thing hang in gear when it was shifting into overdrive so something is def failing cranksensor fixed this but why does it fail so quickly?

were going with the crank sensor and wiring hopefully thatll do it just wish i could figure out why its chewing up sensors
