hey just wonder what the difference is or if its the same.... im trying to get to around 500 or 600 horse for sled pulling this summer... any thoughts on how i can get there? lookin for good budget parts... i got a 01 cummins 3500. its got a smarty, quadzilla xzt, 35/40 hybrid turbo afe torque tube custom box with specture filter four inch down pipe five inch stacks and south bend triple disc clutch... thanks

SO VP44, edge juice, Jammer 150's, and a 62/65/12 netted me a best of 550/1205 back in 07. If you are going to pull I would do better injectors and a better turbine side on the charger. You will need more fuel and air regardless.

SO vp will do 600 easy. A set of 200 hp injectors and a good charger will get there. Id look at a 64 or 66mm charger. Id personally go to a quadzilla adrenaline and ditch the smarty and xzt but if you want to keep the smarty a tst stacks well with it.

It all depends on the truck. I could only get just over 560 out of mine with Mach 5 or Scheid lightning 4 7x.018. Both were on the same charger which cleared the smoke up. I actually lost about 15hp when I went from a 64 to a 66. I changed out the VP with a Scheid Lightning pump and now I am into the 600+ range with the Mach 5's until the ECM went south. I believe the programming in the ecm and any added electronics has a huge factor in what each truck can do. But I feel that the ecm has a limit on it somehow someway. I have a customer who had the exact truck to a t as mine - identical trans, injectors, charger, intake, even same color and only difference was he ran a Quad ADR and I run Redline Edge comp stack. He made around 60 hp more than me. Just my $.02...

The monster is proven to make the most power. You mentioned being on a budget that will set your path, how much do you want to spend. You cant just put the pump on and run it. There are other things you must do. For your goals an SO would most likely do the job. If you go with the monster your going to need to run Mikes injectors and crosstubes. If you don't, the pump will not run correctly. My op. get your self an edge comp hot box get rid of the quad. Your going to need more air which others have stated. Your going to need more injector.

How much are you willing to spend?? Thats the real question

I did 650+ with SO pump, adrenaline, 200's and Super B Special. I definately wouldn't get a Hotrod or monster if your only shooting for 5-600.

I did 650+ with Mach 8's SO VP and a silver bullet.

And you would have got beat by somebody running jammer 5's and a he351!

Granted the buick is more adept at drag racing than a truck,
But seriously great numbers! I hope to around there when I compound it!

Almost all manufacturers have pricing policies. Those 3 sites are about as cheap as you find, but there are alot of ppl on this forum that can get parts to you for the same price, if not better. Plus, they may give you a CompD discount.

I would have left you sleeping on the tree and you would have never caught me. Even when it wouldn't shift into OD. LOL
