Do i need more fuel?

im having a problem with my truck, my 12v fuels good in second and third to about 2250 or so , but in fourth and fifth it wont fuel very hard past 1900 or so, i kno i need to get the govenor out of the way but that still dont seem right, could my lift pump be going out or need a better one

See i just hooked up my gage and its having problems also or it might all be the same thing, it idles at 25psi andit pegs out the 30psi gage with little throttle like its nothing, so might need a larger gage, but it does jump around sometimes and im not sure wats going on

Check simple things

Fuel filter

look up the "junker drag truck thread" read that. Somewhere in there iirc there is a overflow valve mod.
 
Simple fix.. Get Gov spring kit. Doesn't matter if its 3k, or 4k kit. Just get the kit install it and you'll be amazed at the diffference it makes
 
that sounds like a fuel pressure issue, and because it is fine free reving doesn't mean it is doing the same under load.
 
Hmmm could it be to much back pressure from the wastegate being plugged?
 
Governer springs might be your issue. My buddy with a 97 12v and he has the same issue. It will start defueling at 2300rpms when he's getting on it. Get 3gsk or 4gsk and your truck will be a COMPLETELY different animal.
