do you need to run a coolant expansion or overflow tank

Wondering if you need to run a coolant overflow tank on an 03? I am installing a flex a lite fan setup and there is no way the coolant bottle is going to fit.

So wondering do i really need to run one or can i just leave the coolant a little lower in the radiator? What are the issues with doing this and will it affect anything?

id be willing to bet you can run the truck without one. my 63 belair doesnt have one... haha

When I built my electric fans I never put one back on. Ran for 20k miles without issue.

Why couldn't you use a universal aluminum overflow tank and mount it where you can?

You can run without one, but it's not optimum and some tracks may not let you on without one.
