Guys,

Now that I have eliminated the slip yoke on my NV271, I'm at that point on my project truck to consider what direction I need (or should) go with the rear drive shaft....

I wanted to stay with a one piece and at 67 inches, that is about the limit if not a tad over and I have a running angle of 13-14 degrees. With the length I'm thinking it would be best to run a CV (1350 series) at the transfercase? Or just go with the straight shaft and 1410 series yokes? I think this will give me the best longevity.

Another option is the newer 1410 series CV's... $$$$

Opinions please....

Whee did you get the SYE kit? From what I understand you can only get the 1350 for the t case yoke.

I made a post somewhere on the SYE.... basically used a Ford NV273 as a doner! I'm also looking at putting together a kit for the DIY'rs.

For the Ford fixed flange... Dana makes a 1410 series yoke. For a CV your stuck with the 1350 series unless you go with a 42* high angle setup.

I would go with the larger series u-joints. It couldn't hurt especially with the potential power you are going to be throwing at it. Where are you going to put the slip portion of the shaft?

With the 1.5 ton CV the slip will have to go at the differential end. I'm planning on getting this ordered early this coming week.
