Looking at getting some driveshaft loops. Has anyone on here made their own? If so could I maybe get some pictures and maybe an explination on how you did it? Or where is a good place to get some? A local shop where I live sells them, but they are like $1100 bucks! Sounded a little steep to me, or am I off?

Thanks,
Travis

Just take some 1/4"x 1 1/4" steel and bend it into a loop.......Make some hangers and your done !

or go find your nearest well driller and get some of his well casing cuttoffs

Perfect diameter at 6" and usually free.

Do they have to be to a spec to pass drag racing nhra certification?

Never thought of the well castings. There a guys who does well drilling about a mile up the road. Maybe ill hit him up and see what he has. I wanted to get some pipe, as it would be a more perfect circle than if I bend my own. But thats an option too. Whats the best way to bend it? Just heat it up?
Thanks guys
Travis

I beleive the technical name for the pipe is schedule 40
never measured one, just installed them - never seen a tech guy yet with a set of calipers, and willing to crawl under to see if the shields met that last thou or so thickness:hehe:

Does anyone hace pics of their setups. Or can point me to a good thread. Did some searching and cant find much. Maybe im not searching the right wording. Or anyone have pics of one done with well casting?

Travis

6" schedule 40 pipe is 6.25" od and has roughly a 1/4" wall thickness. You may find 4" pipe with a od of 4.5" helpfull in some places.
