I figured I may as well post my conversion on another forum. Here's the lowdown: 93 DTA360 in my 99 CC dually as a daily driver. I am shooting for mid 500s as the midpoint HP wise. Here are the mods so far: P7100 215 HP pump fully modified DVs 4k GSK etc. etc. , 5x12 injectors with .093 lines, Custom made push rods and valve springs to prevent valve float, s400 turbo in the 74mm range, PCS to run my BTS 4r100, and the remnants of my dual walbro gsl-392 system from my 7.3 to feed her.

Motor is in the truck as we speak Adapter plate, flex plate, motor mounts are done. Motor will come out to install all the goodies then button her all up. Should be running this week. Here's a few pics of the adapter plate and flex plate we had machined. As a side note, I couldn't have done this without Carson Stauffer. He knows a cool and different project when he sees it.

That is sweet! That will be one of a kind around you. Awsome job.

Thanks, I've always wanted to do it since I saw Frank's truck with the 466, but I wanted a daily driver capable truck. I think this is one of the first conversions of this type I've heard of anywhere (I'm sure it's been done though) and one of the first if not the first one that's used the 4r100 behind it. I hope Brian built me a good one :lolly:

I hope you don't mind a few question from a newb-

First of all, what made you decide to go with the DTA-360 over the more common Cummins for the conversion? Just the cool factor (which I can agree with) or are there other underlying benefits to the DTA-360 over the Cummins?

Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you think you have in the conversion?

Lastly, what is the DTA motor out of originally? I'm not too familiar with them so I was wondering what IH used them in.

Thanks, awesome truck btw!

I wanted to keep my Ford with an International motor in it. I've always liked the International motors. The 360 is much stronger than the Cummins in the bottom end and capable of 3000 HP according to Hypermax. It is also a wet sleeved motor which is nice come rebuild time. This particular DT was out of a school bus but the DT motors are ine verything from Ag tractors to Medium duty trucks. The 360 is the smaller brother to the venerable DT466. As far as cost I dont think I want to put pen to paper. But it's in the range of other Cummins conversions that have taken them to 600 HP.

Cool, I like the way you think! Wet-sleeve is a definite plus. I like the IH's also, so it's cool to see an option for light-duty trucks other that the PS. Again, nice truck and nice setup!!!
