Dual disc clutch disengaging issues

I have had a worsening issue with my clutch not disengaging. It started by being more difficult than normal to get into gear when stopped. Rolling through the gears while driving was easy but I tend to match speeds anyway. It got to the point when I was sitting still with it in gear and the clutch pressed in it would keep pulling forward. Not cool. I thought it might have been the hydraulics so I adjusted the rod longer by about 3/4 of an inch. Absolutely no change. I made the tool to manually disengage the clutch per Valair's directions and it still wouldn't go in gear. After pulling the tranny to inspect the clutch I discovered that 3 of the 4 levers and eye bolt nuts were loose. Can these just be tightened back down or do they have to be set up in a special way?

That pressure late look just like the one we deal with in farm tractors all the time. Assuming you're talking about the thin nuts that take a 11/16 wrench, those are used to set finger height.

We set them up at .125" between the finger and the stamped steel housing once it's bolted down to the flywheel. I usually spot weld the nuts, we've had alot of trouble with them coming loose.

Valair may have their own height setting, due to making it all fit in the dodge bell and clear the throwout bearing.

Why don't you call or pm the manufacture of the clutch????

I did. I have been in contact with Dan trying to troubleshoot. I wanted to get this info on here for others to reference and find out if anyone has done this before. I sent Dan a pic and description of what I found but I don't want to bug the guy on Sunday night.

If you lay a straight edge on top of the pressure plate on the flat area over the springs, go all the way from 1 side to the other, then from the bottom of the straight edge to the top of the lever from us is .875" new. I would think a clutch 4 years old would have some wear and would be a bit closer. I am interested in how close each of the fingers are to each other as far as height goes. Those levers can be loose when it is bolted down due to design.

Levers were all in spec except 1. It was about 0.970". This kept some pressure on the discs and was why it wouldnt release. Pilot bearing is rough and had lost St all grease and is real rough. Clutch headed back to Valair this afternoon.
