Duramax Controlling Torque convertor lockup

A freind has a 2005 gmc with the LLY duramax and the 5 speed Allison, he wants a way to be able to UN lock the torque convertor by like a toggle switch. He hooked one up to certain wire from the tranny (i cant remember the name) and it works great, it automatically locks and unlocks in one position, flip the switch and it WONT lock up, just like what he wants, BUT there is one problem, after flipping the switch the truck wont go into reverse, i believe he said he has to shut it off and restart it everytime.

From what I've read so far that's something you'll have to live with if using the switch. The TCM is shook by the switch so you have to restart to clear the code.
This in part was why the Fleece Alli-locker was made; even though it is $400
