Anyone ever hear of the Dynapack Dyno? This dyno is supposedly the best dyno to get the most exact horsepower and torque readings from- there is absolutely no tire slippage involved. The unit hooks up to the hubs- direct.

I have a shop in the next town over and the owner has 4 of these setups. In talking with him he bluntly stated that he can get torque readings up to 4400 ft lbs.:ft: Horsepower to 1600...... He stated he can be mobilly set up for events or have dyno slug fests at his shop. He does alot of work with most of the major car manafacturers racers f1 indy nascar ect.

I asked him if he would try his piece on a few fire breathing diesels and he stated that all he needed was a special hub adapter for 8 lug which he could have in hand in a week-2 weeks........

Any feedback or experience with these dynos??

Inertia dyno- I am finding out now how long he can hold the load for spooling big turbos/diesels

that makes sense... i would guess the reason they're not that popular is the price for a shop to buy one... a normal dyno works for 99% of lightly modded cars until tires start slipping

LOL he is calling the manafacturer- apparently he doesnt trust us diesel folks when I mentioned possible torque outputs.... LOL LOL LOL

They don't work on laggy applications like turbo'd trucks. LOL When they torqued up a 350hp Mustang, I thought the hubs were going to flip over.

LOL He is making numerous phone calls direct to the factory, LOL the last phone session I had with him I bet he was sweating on the other end LOL :hehe:

( I described Redstroke towing another Superduty to an event and hitting the rollers to 1300+) LOL LOL LOL

I said many times we don't want to break your presious machine......LOL

A friend of mine put his truck on one a while back when it was at a measly 400hp. Apparently a smooth driver is required and correct tie downs are good idea as axle wrap makes for a fun ride.

hmmm I've always wondered what the truck would do on the dyno in 4x4... I suppose one of these units would be the only kind can would fit our truck and dyno in 4x4.

It breaks the transfercase on AWD dynos because the drums aren't synchronized. Have you ever heard an AWD Suby on the dyno? The last 2-3 seconds before the rollers stop their full-time case is popping and banging.
