Just curious if anyone has heard of any numbers Jet A has produced... if any?

I'm currently running Jet A and was possibly thinking about bringing some to TS... if I go.

Yes theres oil added... I'm not that new to diesels haha.

Okay, so no advantage... but will it hurt dyno numbers at all? Like how bio-diesel produces lower numbers then #2 on the same set-up.

you should be pretty close to #2 numbers IMO... definately no advantage, but jet fuel is similar to kerosene... the oil brings it back to more similar characteristics. it would be interesting if you could do back to back testing w/ different fuels

There will be a def. power loss with Jet A vers #2. It does'nt have the BTU nor the lube, add the needed lube and Id see no reason to not run it if its saving ya money.... but thats the only reason. No other advantage. Try it and post back.

Well, since I can get my hands on it for now... I'll continue running it, but I'll be sure to hold on to some for a time when I can run it back to back. Just to see what the difference actually is.

:Cheer:

I've been running it for almost 8,000 miles...with 1.5 gal of Supertec TCW3 2cycle per tank.

As said before,..you will see lower HP numbers, and lower MPG's....due to the lower BTU's of the fuel.

is it cheaper than #2 diesel? bunch of small air ports around here but they would look at me like an idiot if I asked to buy any.

My old man is a helicopter mechanic for one of the local hospitals... so I get it for free. Not sure what the price difference is, I'm sure its cheaper though.

it is actually around $8 a gal,........but I get it for free too.....LOL

How are you guys getting it for free? Stealing?

Absolutely NOT!...

it's reclaim fuel...it is fuel that has been pulled from the bird for testing,...and once it has been tested,...it is ILLEGAL to put it back in.....so it goes into a big waste tank for disposal.
