Just wondering on the hitch rule. 27% of the wheel base right? ALso states hook point must be the rear most point. Hows that possible. On our truck that puts the hook point 10inches from the end of the bed, underneath the truck. Thats ok with me but want to make sure its ok for the rules.

From point of hook to centerline of rear axle shall be no less than 27% of truck wheel base

Mine was not the rear most point and i was fine, just dont be less than the 27% and make sure you have a safety hitch

WOW, that is one short hitch!!! I thought the truck we where building with 30% was short. Our hitch at 30% is tucked in under the edge of the tailgate by about 6 " or more

Thanks guys I did read the 27% rule and was going to build to that. Just wanted to make sure on the rear most point. Becasue the rules also say it must be the rear most point. Not sure how it could be. Any idea on the length of the chains. want to make sure the back of the truck is not going to hit the sled. ITS A REGULAR CAB which makes the hitch 10inches in behind the edge of the bed.
