Easy way to compress valve springs.

Ive got a head that i want to check before i list for sale, whats the best way to compress the springs with out a tool? or should i just bum one.

You can actually use the rear engine lift bracket that is on the drivers side of the head along with a big c-clamp.

Doubt that will work with a 24v spring. Not many of the "standard" spring compressors will work with the smaller 24v springs.

A socket and a hammer works pretty good. Just wear safety glasses and have fun looking for all the keepers that go flying.

I did the same thing it was in the 98-02 forum. When I looked at that 12 valve tool. I thought What the heck is he talking about. Lol

socket and hammer works good just keep good pressure on socket and the keepers wont fly
