MY 98 currently has a 2-piece shaft with a carrier:doh:. The Truck has bars on it but I'm wondering how well its gonna hold up if it does this season. So I'm wondering If a one piece would be the fix, and if so does, is the Tail shaft housing gonna become the the next weakest link?

If ya can get the carrier bearing to hold up, i think a 2 piece is stronger... The longer the tube the weaker it is. Iv have seen guys use piller block bearings in place of the carrier bearing and works well!

So With a new Carrier and U-joints in place. That shaft shouldn't be a big concern as long as the bars to what there suppossed to do.

Ya mite want to brace up the carrier bearing cause i bent the bracket that goes around the carrier bearing. folded that dude up to the crossmember. Just make a gusset from the bracket to the crossmember.
