ecm interchange? Little help please.

Don't think so, there are differences in the programming. I could be wrong though, some others have done a lot more part swapping than I have.

Good to know, thanks. I know there are guys out there who did a auto to manual swap. I am just making sure because I know the APPS is different from Auto-manual.
 
The 99 auto ecm wont have the idle up to prevent stalling that the manual has. I can send you an 99/manual/federal recovery to flash with your smarty.
 
when doing the auto to manual swap in a 99 do you have to change the ecm or jsut run it with the auto ecm is it necessary thanks alot for the help.

You just take Smarty, download a program & install it in your ecm. I never knew it could be done, but Bob Wagner hooked me up. Thanks again Bob.

I still haven't had time to change it. I've been doing estimates in the morning before work & remodeling a bathroom in the evenings because company was suppose to be coming in from Virginia. After busting my butt all week, they called yesterday & said "next week". I'm gonna work on the truck tonight. Thanks again for the ecm deal Zstroken.
 
it will work just less horse power and you can take it to a cummins southern plains if you have one near and they will flash it to work for the standard.. my 99 use to be 5 speed and switch to auto and still run the standard ECM..

Read post #5. I have a Smarty programmer, no need to go to Cummins. Bob Wagner sent me the 99 manual program. I only need to go to my computer, download the program to Smarty & install it. Smarty is amazing!:rockwoot:
