Ok, here is the problem with it. I was trying to sell my Hypertech, so a guy wanted it. and wanted to try it. He tried to put it in his truck I guess, and some how he got his stock program loaded into it, so when I hooked it to my truck to adjust the tires to go to Smokin 09 this weekend, it loaded the 2000 model stock program with a auto tranny into my truck, but my truck is a 2002 with a 6 speed. That is the whole problem right now.

I took it to the Dodge dealer friday, and tried to get the computer reflashed back to a 2002 model with a 6 speed, but because of the other program being in the computer they can't reflash me back to my stock program. So they said I needed a New ecm to get it back right.

So I talked to a few people at Smokin 09, and I was told that maybe I could get a Smarty for my truck and get a Stock 2002 tune in it, and reprogram my ECM with this.

Is this possible? Do I really need to get a new ECM? Is there anywhere I can get mine reprogrammed at? Has anyone else had this problem? What to do or try next?

Thanks for any advice given on this!! I need to get it back going as soon as possible.

not the answer you were looking for but i would call hypertech and see if they know what to do. i would think getting your hands on your old hypertech and loading your settings back into it would fix the problem. hope that helps

Well, I probably could go with the hypertech, but I am afraid my program is gone with it. Cause I hooked it to another truck, and it had the right year and all for it, no vin lock on it, so I am going the smarty way, I wanted one anyways lol. Just a better reason to get it. So where is the best place to get the smarty from and how do I get my stock program in it? Thanks for any and all info.

do what bob said. either get a smarty or get a scanner and reprogram it. scanners run around 150 to 500 bucks and the smarty is 600+ but i would get the smarty because its a scanner and a hell of a good programmer.

Ok, on where to get it from, I over looked the web site in Bob Wagner's signature. Just got to get the money now lol.

I would doubt I could get enough to fix all my breaks right now. Didn't need this on top of everything else, but I guess problems come in groups.

that they do. i was backing my truck up going 2mph, hit a little rock and i mean little and having your steering completely break, i mean drag link tie rods whatever rod it is that goes from the pitman arm to the drag link. and to top it off being 110 miles from civilization thats 450 for a tow and 400 in parts. and then i figure since my truck is going to be out of comision for a couple days i went ahead and got a turbo. then the turbo oil feed cracked. murphys law has been beating the crap out of my truck. good luck with the ecm

Thanks, well right now, my truck is down, and my jeep is torn apart, so I got plenty to work on. Lol. But going to call about the smarty deal now to see what can be done lol.

Thanks, be glad to be back in it, sad to see it parked all cause of something that shouldn't have happened.

The Smarty worked perferct, took a couple minutes and the truck is back to normal. Thanks to Bob Wagner on this one, I got it fixed. Very glad I found this route instead of the new ECM. Thanks for all the info and the help.

Hey, I liked my hypertech when it was my main programmer, but then I got the Comp Box and there it went, only needed to run the tire size with it, but now the smarty does it all for me, well soon as I get the revo in it lol.
