A coworker of mine has an 01 with an Edge Juice showing 0 fuel pressure. The truck does not go into limp mode and runs fine just not showing fuel pressure. Bad sensor? I know nothing about the vp44 so any info is great.
It could be really making 0psi. Mine sat at zero all the time, thought the guage was bad. Ending up being a dead LP. It will still run and drive fine, just a little low on power(maybe not even noticable)
Thanks for the help guys. She's hard to talk diesels with because she's one that thinks she knows EVERYTHING. I'll let her know about the lift pump possibility.
She couldn't comprehend that the truck would run without the psi. Thanks for all the input guys but she looked at me like I was dumb so I told her to do what she saw fit. Then I asked her about getting a fass or airdog and she said she couldn't afford it so I asked if she wanted to spend the money on a lift pump or something that would benefit the truck..."I'll take my chances" she said.
The VP will suck fuel through a dead LP.... but of course it will kill the VP after time....
Mine did... I could hear mine running just fine... but it was showing 0psi... But luckily mine was under warranty at the time so I got a new VP and LP... then I replaced the factory LP with my airtex setup...
i had an 01 w/ the edge juice w/ attitude. i also had a fuel psi reading of 0, turned out that i had a bad connection at the battery. tightened things up and everything was good to go.
