Edge comp lights up when key is forward but not when running

Just got my used Edge Comp from a member on here. Everything went ok I thought. Got everything hooked up, turned key forward and the led's lit up. Started the truck and it started fine but the LED's do not light up while the truck is running. Also my check engine light is on with a code of 1693 which I realize is useless without a scanner.

Now I didn't tap the VP wire and according to Edge the Comp will act like an EZ if the pump wire is not tapped. Is that maybe why the LED's aren't lighting up when the truck is running because it's in EZ mode basically?

Slight update, went for a test drive about 15 miles round trip. Appears the truck is in limp mode or something. Doesnt accelerate for **** and the torque converter seems to be locking and unlocking way more than normal. Gonna unplug the Comp and see if that fixes anything.

Did you tap fuse #9 in the in cab fuse box? That's the fuse Edge says to tap in the instructions. As for the TC issue I doubt the Edge has anything to do with that as it doesn't compute with the trans in anyway.

No I used the #17 fuse on the panel on he side of the dash. That's the one it said to use in my instruction manual. I think the TC issue may be because the truck was in limp mode and was basically stuck in the 45 mph-55 mph zone where my converter is always acting a fool.

Another update, after unplugging the Edge the truck runs fine (although the check engine light was on).

Tap #9, if you don't get key on power I would send the box to Edge and have them troubleshoot it.

One thing I just thought of.....you know how there are two wires (the one to tap the pump and a ground)......well I never hooked the ground up. I think in my head I was thinking that I didnt tap the pump so I didn't need to hook up the ground. Maybe this is the cause of my problem since the edge wasn't working because it wasn't grounded so the truck was basically running without a map sensor?

If it lights up in the "on position" but not when the trucks running there is a ground source, it sounds like you have it tapped to an improper fuse.

Like previously stated you need to tap into the #9 fuse in the cab

Even if the #17 is a key on power it will not keep the engine running for the turbo cool down feature on the edge- only #9 will

Comp doesn't have the Turbo timer feature.

Ok so just an update....I tapped the pump using my stealth plate, hooked up the ground and used the #9 fuse instead of #17 and now it works great plus my check engine light is off now. Thanks guys!

I dunno how I drove this truck before! This box has really woke this truck up, I'm getting way better mileage, throttle response is way better, the truck doesn't shift down going up hills now and my torque converter is locking and unlocking at 55mph all the time now.

I had a bad ground before with my comp box and it fried. Edge says that the box will try to ground thru the map sensor and can ( did in my case ) fry the box. I wanna say the it was a earlier box issue and that later boxes won't fry if this happens.

Well maybe I got a later box then or just have dumb luck because I have no problems with it now.

Yeah no kidding. It doesn't do it quite as bad now with the Edge but it does still piss me off. Both batteries are grounded so I know it isn't that. I know there is a flash from the dealer for "erratic torque converter" that is supposed to fix this. Has anybody else done it?
