Edge Problems or pump

My friend has 01 H O 24v. He got an edge with attitude off a 1999 cummins, and when we hook up the fuel wire to the pump won't start. So we called edge sent the box back had it updated still won't work. I think it might be in the vp pump, because the lift pump went out, so it got a fass pump. Does any one have an idea.
 
How long was the truck driving while the lift pump was dead? Try a test light on the wire and key on see if theres voltage.
 
Did you go to 'setup' on the attitude and tell the box what year truck it was? It is at the bottom of the menu screen if I remember correctly. I went round and round with Edge and I doubt if it is the box. It is always something goofy that we don't think of. And if you don't have the MAP sensor plugged up, you are prolly not going to get it to run worth a shiznit. Go to Edgeproducts.com and download the users manual and check your wiring per the diagram. It will show how to install the pig tail to the MAP sensor. It will also have some trouble shooting advice in the back of the manual IIRC. Hope this helps.

P.S. Don't remember any difference in the 99-02 versions. They should all be compatible 'cept maybe a different connector for the MAP sensor. You can select what year on the screen. $.02
 
Looks like I lied. Sorry. 01 and 02 are a different part number from the 99 box.

i think you can get an adaptor for the map, and i dont see why it woud'nt work, the smarty and other programers work on all second gen 24v........i dunno the box/chips may be diff......
 
The MAP plugs are different. 98-00, 01 and 02 use 3 different types.
 
sorry it took so long to reply been busy. to answer all your question. yes the book was sent to edge for an update, and they told us it would work on the o1. the map sensor was taking care by an adaptor from my dealer. i do not know how long the lift was going out. He told me it died on the highway, and ended up in my drive way. He has had trouble with hot start problems. Just a few of times. Also the data port has an adaptor also.
