EGR block off plate!?!?!

I have a 05 6.0 and wanna do something with my egr system but want to do it the cheaper way.

A guy told me today to get a block off plate and take out the egr valve and block it out with the plate and zip tie the valve up somewhere and keep it plugged in that will work just fine!!!

Well, its a valve that allows exhaust into the intake. If you remove the valve....
