EGT probe location?

I did a search on this forum but I cant find where the duramax guys run the EGT probe? I have a buddy that has his behind the turbo but that doesnt seem like it would be that accurate? What about putting it on the rear of the manifold? Thanks for the help
 
There is a bit of a flat area on top of the pass side manifold. right before the last top bolt IIRC
 
How popular are dual temp gauges...for each manifold/cylinder bank?
 
i have mine in the drivers side manifold... i think this is the best place since it is the manifold that is pinched down and will be the hottest spot.... right in the manifold is better too because it will be more accurate and quicker to respond to temperature changes.... i also agree with the bd manifold being a good investment it's relatively cheap and their manifold has a spot threaded for a probe..... so that also tells me that's the proper place to have it
