Electric water pump gave up the ghost...

I installed an electric water pump on the new build last year. It sat most of the winter and showed signs of leaking thru the motor housing in the spring.:bang I have about 800 miles on it, no pulls, 3 dyno runs, and today it gave up the ghost...:doh:

Tonight is my first pull on the new build so I'm in a rush to get a new stock pump on (clip the fins) and find another belt (6 rib vs. 8 rib) due to the billet front cover...

What a total waste of money...$.02

I have one that is leaking bought if from Jegs, 1 year 10 days after the 1 year wty. Called Jegs, sent men another one and said to send the other one back for a refund on the second purchase. I have seen one other leaking after about 6 months also.

Not all of them are created equal. We build a pump and its far more involved than most people know as far as precision accuracy on the assembly. Sorry to hear about your luck Jesse.

Personally I don't think they are worth the money, clip the stocker use the EEP bypass and call it good. You could put an inline pump in if you really want to circulate the water with the engine off.

Just to be clear, my pump is NOT made my E.D.

I picked up a stock replacement and ground about 1/4" off the end of the fins. I don't have a coolant bypass on it yet, but will later this summer. I hope it doesnt' puke coolant tonight...

I hope to get some video of my sled pull tonight or a video of my mud run depending on if it rains...LOL It doesn't look good right now.

I never heard that... ill have to look into it
