What's the best Engine cleaner/degreaser?

Gunk Engine Bright? Greased Lightening?

I use simple green and a pressure washer.

Mix Castrol Super Clean or any of the parts house brand butyl base cleaners 50/50 in a pump up sprayer and liberally coat the dirty/oily areas. Give it a couple of soakings (especially on a hot engine) and then wash off with a water hose. Repeat as needed. For really caked on crap the best thing I have found is using AvGas in a blow gun, but mineral spirits will do a really good job as well.

I personally don't like using a pressure washer on the engine, you hit something wrong and you can screw up a sensor or a gasket.

I agree w/ "Billysgoat" I know sometimes high pressure is the only way to get large amounts of mud and crap off without taking a whole day, I try to regularly rinse mine off and keep ontop of it. I use the same method w/ the bug sprayer and I use "rigwash" 50/50 mix w/ water. I give it a good coat of detailers dressing after its dry just seems to clean off easier the next time.

Anyone ever Steam Clean a motor? Mine has to many coats of paint on it and need to get it off but dont want to take it down to hot dip it.
