On the driver's side of the engine harness just below the injection pump there's a single wire, about the same diameter as a decent sized pen, and is black. Am I correct in assuming that that should be a ground?

The other thing is that is the dealer the only place that carries the 140 amp alternator fuse? I was hooking up a ground to the pdc and got just a enough of an arc to blow that fuse, so now I can't see if my 01 will start due to the blown fuse causing a no bus condition. It doesn't look like napa in my area carries fuses like that.

as far as the fuse, yep that's the only one I could find! i searched and searched the net, and i found places that sold only to larger companies in bulk! the best place to get one is the dealership! bad thing was for me though the dealership just went out of business, so I had to drive a few hrs to get one, paid like 6bucks

Yeah tomorrow I'm gonna go to the dealer. I'm getting real excited to start my beast again. Weird thing is I had the battery cables and grounds hooked up as they should, and had the left side harness ground grounded to the fuse box like it should be. Funny thing is that when I was hooking up the ignition tap on the adrenaline, it would turn everything on in the cab as if I had turned the key switch on, but I never did. But now everything is turning on and off with the key. I'm sure hoping when I get some more main fuses that everything is good to go. I'm positive that I got the cables as they should so nothing should short out lol.

I get a little bit nervous when I put the main fuse in. Sometimes I get a little bit of an arc lol. It is normal to get just a little bit of an arc right?

everything willl stll work without the fuse, it will allow the alternator to charger the batteries!

double crap....if that's all that damn fuse does then I got me a loose connection somewhere. Every time I've pulled the engine--this is the second time-- I kept and am getting no buss messages in the odometer. Last time I forgot to plug the apps sensor back in. And to the best of my ability I've got the necessary grounds and power cables hooked where they should be. Ah well guess I'll spend some time today tracing what I've messed with. About the only thing I've never touched is the instrument cluster lol.

well i got it figured out today. It turned out to be the alternator (140amp) fuse. Now all I gotta do is charge the batteries and start the ol' girl

I thought that's all you were talking about the 140a alt. fuse, i blew one by touching the alternator and truck ran but wouldn't charge!

Yeah I was...I probably didn't make a whole lot of sense because I'd been obsessing over this all weekend lol. Now I'm happy as could be. I got the engine to start today and runs smooth as glass muahahahahahahaha
