does anyone know how far the pistons can come out of the head? Also what is the allowed clearance between the valves and pistons? Thanks Will M.

Max piston Protrusion depends on several things, HG thickness, top ring to deck clearance, and injector protrusion. Once you establish those deminsions, then can one deside on piston to valve clearance.

on the tight side .050 on intake and .070 on exhaust is the norm, though most with light VS psi (flat tappet)will run a about double that. if they are running big boost and rpm
