Engine Timing

a friend of mine has a 1990 D250 with some work done to it he just got his new head gasket and wanted to know what would be a good number for his engine timing he's thinkin about 12-15* but wants to know whats the max he can go. here's what hes got done to his truck. hx35/40 hybrid, 100 horse DDP injectors, 3000rpm kit, fuel pin, and a tenthousanths marine head gasket. Any help would be great

do you know the spray angle on the ddp's? i've heard the IV's liked 20 deg at a 142.5 deg angle. but then i heard they were the same as the 370 marines at 149 degrees. big diff.??? ddp didn't reply. tc
