This Kamaz is using very old technology. First Dakar trucks were made in middle of '80 , one of my friends co-worker drive it in 1986 Dakar rally.
It's fast to compared average cars , but too slow if you compare racing trucks.
This rally truck was almost 100% custom made, even crankshaft in engine was custom, also cab was custom , it is similar but you can not use nothing from production truck.
The engine was 12.5 liter V8(if I remember correctly), and it was a copy from early '70 Renault truck engine.
By-the way- Cummins M11 engine was also in new Kamaz option list, new truck with Cummins cost twice as much as truck with russian engine :evil ----> only diamond maining company's can afford it
If you want to see super rally trucks, then only Tatra and MAN is the ones. :bow:
