Exhaust manifold shrunk. What is a good reasonably priced replacement?

This is what now sits under my hood.

If I understand correctly the reason the factory exhaust manifold shrinks and cracks is the metal it is made of. the factory exhaust manifold is made of cast iron which shrinks with heat cycles.

The options for replacements seem to be a 3 piece exhaust manifold which can sometimes leak at the seams, stainless one piece which is horribly expensive, one piece made from cast ductile iron, or a factory replacement which will most likely fail again and again.

I have read where ATS 3 piece exhaust manifolds have cracked. I do not know if this is an ATS issue, people running to high EGT's or a common 3 piece problem.

I am not into hotrodding my truck. I want it to be a reliable tow rig and perhaps daily driver. I may eventually add a 10 plate and 5x.011 injectors and perhaps add a hx35/50 hybrid.

I am still shocked that a stock truck could have a shrunken exhaust manifold at 120k miles. Now I just need to figure out what manifold or at least type of exhaust manifold is best.

This is a cheap 3 piece unit.

This is not much more expensive for a 1 piece unit.

This is a slightly more expensive stainless piece.

I know about steedspeed and stainless diesel but those are much more expensive.

Can anyone give some useful input on choosing a replacement part?

I have never had an issue with my PDI 3 piece but I'm switching to a steed speed as I am going to a T4 flange

I like to go fast

Just buy a 3 piece. I wouldn't spend big money for a daily driver with mild power/heat. From what I remember the 3 piece design helped to combat the expansion/contraction due to heat cycles.

x2 a one piece steed speed, put one on 2 month ago! The manifold is $$$ But you will be way ahead in the long run in all your power upgrades. Plus its warrinty, I think is for as long as you own the truck? Never heard of one failing on the Drag/pull side of use. good luck deciding.

anyone running the cheap 3 piece in the link? curious how they might last at that price.

We have had no returns on our cheap ones. They are not far off from the finish of manifolds $200 more

I had one that shrunk and broke the bolts off. Bored the holes out a little and still running it with no issues

I've never had a problem with my ats 3 piece in 10 years of running it. A couple friends of mine have been running the cheap 3 piece with no problems.
