i was thinking about getting a 4" exhaust and was wondering if i bought one that fits my hy and i later up grade my turbo to a phat sahft or somthing a long those lines would i need to buy a new down pipe that would fit the new turbo or is there an adaptor or somthing else that would make the pipe fit on the turbo.

New down pipe is the answer. There are adapters that go from HX35 to HX40 flanges but then you need additional clamps and if you ask me that's a very ethnic fix.

The HX 40 flange is so much larger than the stocker style.
