external wastegate adjustment

I have not found a thread on external gate adjustment, so....

I was thinking that I would need to hook the output from the turbo to the top of the wastegate to keep pressure down on the diaphragm to keep it closed.

Where if I put it on the bottom port it would want to help open it (which is not what would be needed to limit the boost to 35-40psi, well above the spring in the wastegate.)

The boost elbow would be used to limit the boost to the top so keep only put partial pressure on it.....

Those that are running an external, am I on the right track?

Manifold pressure to the bottom port, regulated manifold pressure to the top. You also likely have a preload screw on the top to fine tune it further.

I was thinking that the lines would be different on diesel because there is no vacuum, I guess not.

Mine is a new Tial and they no longer have an adjustment screw on the top.

I'll give your recommendation a try!
