My buddy and I recently installed an EGT guage in a co workers Ford F800. He wanted more power when pulling, so our plan was to install an EGT guage and slide the fuel plate forward. Nothing crazy, he just wanted a lil more pep. Our problem is that sliding the fuel plate forwards has done nothing...infact, having it right in the middle produced the best results, they are minor at best. Are we missing somthing here? I figured just moving the plate a bit would give him what he needed, but we have made little progress. My only guess it that Ford put some kind of different plate in this pump that cant react well to "sliding it forward" I took the plate out and it looks funny...we need some help.

Thanks guys.

i would help ya but my neighbor is puttin one of those motors in a f350 92 model and he is not finshed cuz he is gonna do some tweakin like that to i will let u knw if i find out something

Its a p7100 pump, I am kind of thinking It has some kind of "restrictive" fuel plate on it. I wish I could have compared a regular dodge plate to this "ford one" so I could tell if they were any different from each other. They might be the same... but at this point I don't know for sure. What do yall think?

Find a stock dodge plate and grind a #100 pattern in it and slap it in and see if it works.

Where is the AFC positioned? If its toward the rear, and it isn't traveling that far, it will limit your rack travel, no matter how deep you cut the plate. I'd shove it full forward to see if you get an increase in fuel. If so, then start tuning it. If not, then you have to look elsewhere for the hang up.

^^^^Thats what I was thinking. It almost sounds like the arm is maxed out at 1/2 way.

If you think the problem is with the plate, take it completely out and then test drive it.

thanks for all the reply guys.

I found a great tuning link for guys that don't know their way around the pump, it answered quite a few of my remaining questions...good info, thought id pass it around.

I will try to tune the starwheel a bit, and if that doesn't work, the plate is coming out and we will see if that helps:st: haha
