Factory Fuel Filter Canister

What causes fuel to leak around the gromet that holds the two wires going in to the top of the factory engine mounted fuel filter canister? I noticed a diesel smell yesterday, and when I popped the hood of the truck noticed that a small amount was leaking up around the rubber gromet.

What is the fix for this issue?

Get a cannister off an 01 much better design an filters r cheaper

Thanks! I'll keep my eyes open for that housing.

Until then, I might just throw some high temp silicone on to keep it from leaking for now.
