Fall Brawl 2008-"If a man does his best, what else is there?"

I'm in for Sat. and maybe Sunday. What can I bring to help out? Please let me know.

Jason

My truck just had some head gasket issues too. 2 cracked fire rings and it was blown from #6 to the water jacket. But i got new rings and new gasket in now and have been driving it for a week and half and all seems good now. I plan on coming, I have never been before and look forward to meeting all you guys

Corey...
Thanks for the offer of help I think its going to recover and make it.Seems like mine is not the only one suffering now from headgasketitis as Wildbore's ride has now coughed his out also.I guess I could blame all this headgasketitis on JetPilot as its was always his truck that suffered from this right before an event. He was a bad influence on all of our trucks,LOL.

I am still at a loss as to why mine went south.Upon looking at the ensuing mess it was evident that it had been compromised for a long time. The last straw was the water jacket passage under the thermostat housing where it began leaking out the side.I have never seen the mess which was on the deck of the block before. The best description of it was a sludge build up in between the cylinders and compression rings. The gasket had carbon trails out to the side of the block and the rear on number 6 yet was not mixing oil and antifreeze in the cooling system.I know the shop that did the original o-ring had the protrusion at 14 which may have been a tad much and led to it.The head has been off and redone and back on and we will see how things progress from now on.........Andy

Well speaking of Jetpilot's truck...I just noticed an oil leak today:bang It seems like alot...just oil and at a quick glance the pan gasket is pretty wet so i'm hoping it's just that.

UPDATE!!!!.....

I chatted with Sled Puller tonight and due to a work conflict he will not be able to make it or set up a NADM booth.HOWEVER,what they,NADM,have done instead is give us two packages to give to our competitors and this is how it will be done...

For the weekends festivities NADM will give away 2 memberships,T-shirts and Billet "1000 HP Club" Hitch Receiver plugs to the 2 highest HP members who can lay down 1000HP or more on their respective dyno runs. The runs can done with any combination needed to make the 1000hp.The runs can be made at anytime during the weekends show but must be backed up and not be a single attempt. The 2 winners will have their photos taken and their respective dyno sheets sent to NADM so they can be posted on their website. So Good Luck to those competitors!.

I will be quite honest I was shocked when Gene told me this.In all my years of knowing Gene he has been a "Fuel Only" believer. When I was told what he wanted done I asked,"Fuel Only or are Drugs OK?" to which I got a response that "Fuel Only and/or Drugs were fine, because NADM is about the spirit of competition".I was left speechless and will make sure the snowblowers ready as I never expected to hear that from him,LOL.

So that will add some spice to this weekends show and may prove to be rather interesting to see who has what it takes to accomplish this.So its just a day away and the game is now on,see you there...........Andy

I will chime in later with more.Tim Barbers all fuel run was a sight to see and very impressive. He blew a boot off and when informed of a needed back-up run he took the truck outside and worked on it then came back and laid down a 1039hp back-up run.he now has our clubs record for fuel only also breaking John_P's run from last year.150 trucks in the field and 49 on the jet showed we had a GREAT Turnout.Today started slow but has picked up a lot so we will see what happens today..........Andy

Torque Challenge.......
When this was figured earlier tonite by myself and Dave we made an error and used Lloyd's nitrous run for the figures in error.I then announced Lloyd had won and Tim Barber was runner up.Actually I made a error by doing that so here are your winners.........

Winner.........Tim Barber
Runner-Up....John Porterfield

Their Trophies are with Lloyd until we can see them as we do not want to chance damaging the hardware by shipping them.

NADM Package Winners for their 1000hp Runs.....
Highest......Lloyd Mills....1090.26hp backed up with a 1088.81hp run.
Fuel Only....Tim Barber...1049.05hp backed up with a 1034hp run.

So we had the best of both runs for the NADM group, one with giggle gas and one on fuel only.

Jay....

As usual, this was a great event! Andy, my thanks to you, Greg and ALL of your helpers that worked to put this event on and also to the entire Staff at "SGS" for all their hard work. Glad to see I was at least able to get "runner-up" on the torque challenge against the "big dogs", Tim and Lloyd! Tim and Lloyd, CONGRATULATIONS again on your great runs and to all the winners in the classes.

Jay and Danny,
You guys need to get in contact with me when the TS event goes on. I have approval from the wife for 700hp because 615 is not a good sounding number LOL Hopefully I will have it done for the TS event.

It was great hanging out with you guys. I hope High tech's 5k head works out good for him too :hehe:
