Has anybody heard of putting a shallow .042 groove in their .120 fire ring groove so the fire ring has something to bite into? I recently heard somebody talking about it. Has anybody heard of this technique?
Hmmm... sounds like it would work, but wouldn't that result in less clamping force since the fire ring doesn't get as compressed as having a flat groove?
