I'm fireringing the head on my 95 and was wanting the A-1 H11 studs but have heard they are hard to get ahold of. I'm going to call some to see if they can be had but thinking maybe the 425's from arp will do, I ran them in another truck without firerings and they held 65 lbs. of boost. Thats what this truck makes. I've read hours of threads and some say they are alright and some say no.

So far so good on mine, I put about 15,000 miles on that setup before a valve broke. And since the rebuild I have about 1,500 miles on it, I was running mid 40's before and mid 50's now.

Fire-ring, or o-ring?

Firering with standard arp studs on the street will not get you far.
Oring with standard studs should hold that nicely.

I have firerings, I have a buddy who has the same setup with somewhere between 25,000-40,000 miles on them without issue as well.

A1 is easier to get right now than ARP. There are definitely better options than fire rings with receiver grooves.

firerings, I know some hate them and some have no problems on the street. I would really like to try h11's, going to call around first and try to find a set of them.

Arent the fire rings supposed to crack and fail due to temperature differances? (warm and cold cycles). O-rings are steel rings also?

Steel rings, I've seen both sides some say they are great some don't work. Worse that could happen I have to get another head. This is a daily driver won't pull a trailer very much. I've decided to use 425 arp studs, probably torque them to 140. I've had good luck with those studs before.
