Crappy track conditions, rained all afternoon, sled sitting in a hole, got off the clutch and sat on the starting line for about 10 secs going nowhere, finally started to move the sled at about a walking pace with 35 mph wheel speed.:bang I thought to myself this is going to be a 60 second pull...

It starting popping like it was lacking fuel (at 4500 rpm)even though the FASS keeps it at 40 rock solid. Stayed in it for alittle while longer, just felt powerless, then it started smokin' from under the hood, so I got out of it.

Opened the hood to find my external wastegate had broke off the T3/T4 adapter. Cracked right down the weld, and bent it over towards the turbo. I'm surprised nothing caught fire with 2000 EGT's blowing directly on the valve cover / heater hoses...

I suppose since all the exhaust was blowing out the hole that I could fit 3 fingers in, it wasn't making much boost and the AFC was limiting fuel. I was told it didn't smoke much after a certain point in the pull (when it broke open I guess). Haven't seen the video yet.

Started raining, turned into a mud hole. It was alot of fun getting out of there:umno:

I am going to say with that wheel speed and that rpm, some of your popping came from you hitting rev limiter and also why you wouldnt have much smoke, in the middle of your pull.

That sucks. Nate gave me a little run down.
Makes me feel good that I had to work and couldn't make it to the pull. Although I would have stayed around to help get you home. Going to try to get it back together for Dorchester next weekend?

Just like any new build ya your always gonna have some bugs to work out.

I was great meeting you tonite Jessie and would be awesome if you came to dorchester next week

Here's what it looked like after the pull... Wastegate wasn't plumbed in yet as it wasn't required with this turbo (and it's capped off).

that is a problem I have had also with the wastegate adapter I beleive the new ones now come with thicker pipe .

He doesn't have a 'rev-limiter'.

2nd low instead of 4th low judging by the video, don't know how I managed that screw up:bang

Guess it didn't matter with the wastegate blown off...

get that issue fixed and it looks like it will be a good ride. it was a darn good pull for the lack of power still. keep at it, couple more pulls and you will get it dialed in!

Atleast my 2 year old thought it was awesome ha ha

pulltilbroke, thanks for posting the video so I could watch it... It won't hurt my feelings any if you delete it LOL

Not a problem

I probly wont delete it, I like watching videos

I'm still suprised how good my pile ran last night:rockwoot:

I figured if I left it in 1st low I wouldn't have the wheel speed to go anywhere so I grabbed 2nd and prayed that the little input wouldn't snap. Go big or go home

But I will have a clutch that will hold a better gear tomorow, wont be goin in for a couple weeks though
