First Time Maintenance On My LLY

I plan on changing the oil and filter and fuel filter on my truck this weekend. From what i can tell the oil seems not to be broken down yet, but i just bought the truck so id like to go ahead and change it. It has a hastings fuel filter on it... My question, is there any certain oil, filter and fuel filter recomended better for these lly's?

I don't have much to add specific to your LLY request, but would recommend sending in your oil to a lab like Blackstone to have it analyzed. It can tell you a lot about a new-to-you engine.

Rotella T won the poll on Dieselplace for most used oil.

AC Delco filter, rotella oil.

any "name brand" CJ-4 oil will work.

If you want to go "all out" on your rig, I suggest running Amsoil

Im a fan of Wix filters fwiw...
